Pay-Per-Click Advertising is a form of ‘pay-for-performance’ advertising where an advertiser only pays when a user actually clicks on an advertisement to visit the advertiser’s website.

The world’s most popular ‘pay-per-click’ advertising program is Google Adwords. Google Adwords allows an advertiser to advertise on the Google search engine. Using Google Adwords, an advertiser’s advertisements appear on the right side of the Google search page (under ‘Sponsored Links”). The advertisements only appear when a person searches on the keywords/key phrases that the advertiser is targeting and the person is from the geographical location that the advertiser is targeting.
